SN Krishna Hospital's Advanced Trauma facility in Ujjain provides dedicated resuscitation, surgical, and intensive care for patients with life-threatening injuries. As a trauma-receiving centre for the Ujjain district, we manage road traffic accident victims, industrial injuries, and fall-from-height cases with a coordinated multi-specialty response.

The trauma team includes emergency medicine, orthopaedic, and general surgery specialists who activate simultaneously for major trauma activations. On-site CT, blood bank, and operation theatre availability minimise the time from injury to definitive treatment.

Conditions we treat

Polytrauma (Road Traffic Accidents)

Multiple simultaneous injuries from vehicle accidents requiring simultaneous multi-specialty management.

Head Injury

TBI ranging from concussion to severe diffuse axonal injury requiring CT, monitoring, and ICU care.

Thoracic & Abdominal Trauma

Rib fractures, pneumothorax, haemothorax, and solid-organ lacerations managed operatively or conservatively.

Pelvic & Long Bone Fractures

High-energy fractures causing haemorrhage, managed with external fixation and definitive repair.

Spinal Trauma

Vertebral fractures with or without cord injury requiring immobilisation and specialist surgical review.

Treatments & procedures

Primary & Secondary Trauma Survey

ATLS-based head-to-toe assessment to identify all injuries rapidly in the resuscitation bay.

Emergency Chest Drain & Thoracotomy

Tube thoracostomy for haemothorax and pneumothorax; emergency thoracotomy for uncontrolled bleeding.

Damage-Control Surgery

Abbreviated laparotomy to control bleeding and contamination, followed by planned definitive repair.

External Fixation of Fractures

Temporary frame fixation of unstable pelvic and long-bone fractures to stabilise the patient.

How we treat our patients

Trauma patients undergo a primary survey following ATLS principles: airway, breathing, circulation, disability, and exposure. Haemorrhage control is prioritised. Point-of-care blood tests and FAST ultrasound guide resuscitation. CT trauma series is performed once haemodynamically safe. Operative intervention — orthopaedic fixation, exploratory laparotomy, or vascular repair — proceeds without delay when indicated.

What should I do if I witness a serious accident near Ujjain?

Call 108 (national ambulance) immediately and then alert SN Krishna Hospital's emergency line so the trauma team can be readied before arrival.
